It's been a while since, in December 1959, Richard Feynman at CalTech pronounced the speech "There's plenty of room at the bottom" ("There's a lot of space down there"), which foreshadowed the development of miniaturization on the scale of the nanometer (billionth of a meter).
"In 2000" - prophesied the Nobel Prize - "when people look back at our time, will wonder why he had to wait until 1960 to begin seriously to move in this direction."
The meeting we attended a presentation yesterday at the Centro Congressi Unione Industriale di Torino, presented with clear guidelines of the 2009 edition (the fifth to be held from 9 to 11 June at the Congress Centre of Turin Meet, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Turin).
The appointment, which is crucial for every small, medium and large companies involved, is to update participants on key issues to be addressed and, most importantly, they collect more ideas, suggestions, collaborations ...
The decision to celebrate the event in Turin is an opportunity to know how nanotechnology can contribute to a concrete product innovation and process in a region where there is already a strong and well established industrial and research on this guy [we talked
